Matheson Machinery sells and services a complete line of equipment required for drag hose manure application systems.
We are committed to providing parts and service to farmers and custom manure applicators. We manufacture splash bars and custom built diesel pump trailers with Pioneer or Cornell pumps.
We also sell hose and equipment from reputable manufactures such as Husky, Bazooka Farmstar, Bambauer Equipment, and Zoske Manufacturing.
HISTORY
Matheson Machinery is a family owned and operated business.
Gary and Sarah Matheson founded the business in April 2018.
Gary is no stranger to the agricultural equipment business. His great grandfather George (Jordie) Matheson owned a John Deere dealership in Thamesford Ontario, and manufactured forage wagons under the Oxfords Big M trademark. His grandfather Angus continued the dealership selling Minneapolis Moline tractors, Gehl, Fox and Hesston forage equipment. In 1986 the dealership was sold as Gary’s father Wayne and Uncle Lorne focussed on the dairy farm.
Growing up on a dairy farm, Gary was most interested in field work and was most excited about spreading manure. Gary graduated from Fanshawe College with a diploma in Mechanical Engineering- Mobile Equipment design. He also completed the John Deere Ag Tech program at Fanshawe College. After graduation he held positions as product support specialist, farm equipment mechanic and Ag sales. During his employment, Gary travelled through out North America and Europe repairing control systems and getting a chance to see how manure was spread with a drag hose system on different scales.

In order to spend more time with a growing family, Gary took a job closer to home selling drag hose manure application equipment. After 8 months, his employer exited the business. At that point with encouragement from his customers Gary and his wife Sarah decided to start Matheson Machinery Inc. Gary oversees daily operations, sales, and service. Sarah is a high school math and science teacher. She also helps with the bookkeeping duties and picking up/ delivering parts.
Matheson Machinery began at the kitchen table selling hose and couplers but with endless determination and strong work ethic, it has grown to include manufacturing, sales, parts and service. Currently Matheson Machinery rents a 7500 sq foot shop just West of the town of Bornholm. It is located within close proximity to the many dairy and hog farms in Huron, Perth, Oxford, Middlesex, and Waterloo Counties. Our customer base is expanding into Eastern and Northern Ontario.
